Art Work
In this section, we have used art to explore some of the social and moral issues that have arised as a result of global warming.
"When Movies, Become Real" by Emma Maslin
In my art work, I have expanded on the social issue: "Since many major cities are located on the coast, what would be the social impacts be if those cities were destroyed (think of New York or London)?"
I have tried to show the extent of what flooding could do to us, especially in vital cities such as London and New York, if we do not do something about the terror that is global warming.

"If We Do Nothing" by Ramon Calderon

In my artwork, I tried to present the moral and social issues that would arise if sea levels continue to rise. I believe that all those in society (whether rich or poor) would suffer if an entire city, such as New York, were to be underwater. No money could keep from preventing it were it to occur so the effects of it would ripple through society. The reason I chose the Statue of Liberty was to emphasize the magnitude of this problem, I mean, could you imagine, a city of more than 8 million inhabitants underwater?

"Contemplate" by Donovan Farmer and Ramon Calderon
In this collage we wanted to depict some of the effects and aspects of global warming: climate change, temperatures risin
g, havoc in society, flooding, and whatnot. Then we wanted to hit home by simply stating: contemplate. Contemplate what would happen if the public is unaware, if we do nothing about it, if we continue to try but never act. Those thoughts should spur one to act, because the path this world is on is not the one we want to go down. The future calls for rising sea levels, extreme weather and higher temperatures, problems that would end up destroying ecosystems, homes and the lives of many. So contemplate that, the next time someone asks you to join the fight for global warming.

"What Will Happen..." by Kayla Donohue
The mural that I created goes further than a city going under water; the mural I created depicts what the Earth and the people in it will look like years from now. Eventually, we will destroy everything around us and when we can no longer support ou
rselves, all our morals will vanish. Thinking of what our morals would be in life if we burned through them can be very closely associated with anarchy or the common saying "every man for himself." There would no longer be morals, instead it would be a fight for survival, which is what my mural depicts. It shows that no matter what class you are in, when all our resources are gone, our morals and ethnics will go with them.

And thanks goes out to Olivia Milton for helping us spread our message:
"As Time Goes By" by Olivia Milton

I am not necessarily part of the group, but I did learn a lot from them while they [Global Green Minds] were researching and working to complete their website. That is why I wanted to help them in any way I can, and I offered to do an art piece for them. My painting shows the suffering of animals (in particular, polar bears) and how life is getting harder for them as the temperature rises, or as, hence the name, time goes by. I feel it is up to us humans to extend our help to all the poor creatures that are being victimized by global warming, because if we don't, who will?
