Conclusion
The vital evidence we have shown you through flood maps clearly shows the danger of what global warming can do to the world in the form of flooding. Some people believe, however, that it is too late to prevent global warming and that we need to be focusing not only on emission reductions but also on developing ways to live with the changing climate (adaptation).
This could be helped by getting an international climate change agreement in Copenhagen in December this year. This will follow the Kyoto Protocol which expires at the end of 2012 so we need another agreement to replace it - with even tougher emissions reduction targets if we can manage it. The involvement of the US, the UK and the rest of the European Union is pivotal to this - they didn't sign up to Kyoto and if they are not on board at Copenhagen, then other less developed countries, such as China and India, are less likely to sign up as well.
On a smaller scale, althought it yet unknown whether the US would agree to the second passing of the Kyoto Protocol, current US President Barack Obama has made it clear that combatting climate change and developing alternative energy is important and thus should be included in his newly approved budget. However, to what extent he would take that battle, is still undetermined.
Therefore, it is really important that all countries work together on this.
